1974 Artillery parade enlisted man jacket
1974 Artillery parade enlisted man jacket
Coming from a fellow french collector, a brand new stock issued jacket. I just added two badges. It lacks a visor (in the attic), tie, grey shirt and black belt!

Giacca molto interessante! Complimenti.
Mi sapresti dire l'anno di produzione che non riesco a leggerlo nella foto?
Grazie.

Re: 1974 Artillery parade enlisted man jacket
Ciao Sven,
La giacca riporta la lettera "O" come anno di produzione....corrisponde al 1974.
Cmq è specificato anche nel titolo del thread..
Saluti,
Alex
@komsomol: What a great find!! ...Very nice tunic! love the red coloured Ärmelpatten!!
The NVA Sportabzeichen is even too much for this tunic, as it already is a killer also without badges on it
Would love to have it in my collection!!
Cheers,
Alex

Nice find Komsomol,
First generation of open collar tunics, and you can see that the collar tabs have the darker border used on black collar tunics, easily understandable given the manufacturing year.
Prima generazione di giacche a collo aperto, e le mostrine al colletto hanno i bordi più scuri perché sono del tipo vecchio usato sulle giacche a colletto scuro, comprensibilissimo dato l'anno di fabbricazione.

Hello, many thanks for all your kind comments!
Do you believe an achselschnur would be convenient - and legit- for a 1974 jacket?

Hello Komsomol,
The Achselschnur and the Repräsentationsschnur were both introduced in 1976.
The Achselschnur were only for Officers (of all branches) and the Repräsentationsschnur were only for enlisted men of the Ehrenkompanien I.e. Wachregiment F.Engels and Wachregiment F.Dzierzinsky.
Cheers,
Alex

Re: 1974 Artillery parade enlisted man jacket
Hello Alex, thank you for your precisions! I was thinking of the "old" schutzenschnur... My apologies...

Well, of course a Schützenschnur would be a killer on it!!! ....of course you would need an artillery cord. As far as I know these are rather rare to find....

As I don't really speak german, could you confirm me this point from Bartel's books?comune1aclasse ha scritto:Well, of course a Schützenschnur would be a killer on it!!! ....of course you would need an artillery cord. As far as I know these are rather rare to find....

The schützenschnur was only worn between 1957 and 1960 and 1986-1990 about the artillery? Or should I opt for an infantery cord for this 1974 jacket???

Re: 1974 Artillery parade enlisted man jacket
As far as I know the wear of such a cord until 1960 is referred to the classes.
until 1960 only in two classes.
In 1985 new redesigned cords were introduced and first assigned in 1986.
So I understand that between 1960 and 1985 the assignment of the artillery cord went on....
...if I am wrong in this I would appreciate to hear someone else's opinion.

Re: 1974 Artillery parade enlisted man jacket
Curious, I thought this cord was discarded between 1960 and 1986... about artillery and panzers. The langage barrier!
I only have for reference the "united" Bartel book, 1998/99 edition, page 121, and Feder's "militärische abzeichen der DDR" , 1988, pages 42-43...

Right now I'm still on work. As soon as I am home I will go this again through with the help of my literature....

Re: 1974 Artillery parade enlisted man jacket
Hello Komsomol,
I checked on the Feder-Wagner-Swoboda - Militärische Abzeichen der DDR.
You are right , with the ordnance Nr. 63/60 of the 1st of november 1960 the artillery cord was dismissed.
All military of all branches were since then given the regular Schützenschnur with the crossed rifles.
So basically for your tunic you would need a Schützenschnur old type (before 1985/86)
Cheers,
Alex
