In questa battaglia distruggeva personalmente 5 mitragliatrici e catturato 4-х soldati nemici. E' degno dell'Ordine della "Stella Rossa".

This is one great research!

I am just curious, does "control prisoner" make any sense in English? In Russian it means an enemy combatant capable of verifying previously obtained intelligence information.

Surely you're right, as always, in fact the my translator is a Russian, he often makes a lot of mistakes, which many times I try to correct, but many others escape me [1334 because my English is not good.

"control prisoner" = "An enemy combatant capable of verifying previously obtained intelligence information".

There is an appropriate definition more shorter for translate this subject, I can replace it in the original translation in the spreadsheet?

A good example of why it's so important to use the services of a competent translator. Literal word-for-word translations rarely make any sense.

In this case I don't think it's possible to convey the meaning of "kontrolnyi plennyi" in just one or two words. I would go with "prisoner who could confirm obtained intelligence". Sometimes one Russian word requires a handful of English ones, and sometimes it's the other way around.

A few other words that stood out to me are "shooter", which is best translated as "rifleman", and "Roslovolskoii", which is actually the Russian town of "Roslavl".

One more thing and then I'll stop:

"Partorg Rankskaya Volost, Kuldigskii Uezd, Latvian SSR. [...] Latvian SSR, Kuldigskii Uezd, Rankskaya Volispolkom"

Does this make any sense in English? [137

I agree with you, but also conscious,
however in the past few days I had already thought of you, for new translations, done professionally.

Multitran and a bunch of Russian military dictionaries suggest "identification prisoner". See for instance:

Doesn't make much sense to me either.
