Brief, concrete description of his feat of arms or achievements:

Comrade Bondarenko is an excellent radiotelegraph operator who knowns no fear in
battle.
On August 1, 1944 comrade Bondarenko, along with his radio transceiver and the
battalion commander, was among the first riflemen to start crossing the Vistula River.
He crossed over to the western river bank and with his radio transceiver he provided his
commander with excellent radio communications, enabling him to direct the battalion’s
artillery fire. Under ceaseless rifle, machine-gun, artillery, and mortar fire and aerial
bombardment comrade Bondarenko throughout the day enabled the battalion to bring
down fire onto the enemy strong points and firing positions, as a result of which our
units were able to firmly consolidate their positions on the western bank of the Vistula
River. During this day of intense fighting the battalion, owing to comrade Bondarenko’s
bravery, warded off all enemy attempts to push our units into the river, suppressing 4
artillery batteries and 2 separate guns, fighting off 2 large-scale counterattacks by
infantry and tanks, and dispersing and partially destroying up to a battalion of enemy
infantry.
For the valor and bravery he displayed in combat during the Vistula River crossing, he
deserves to be granted the title of
"Hero of the Soviet Union".
