Messaggio da Alfred »

Hello,

never engaged deeply with these badges.

What are signs of fake/forgery of these badges.

I will post a few picture here.

I like very much these army badges, but I have none in my collection. I am not an expert then, however I do not see anything wrong in yours.

Here is a bunch a copies. For comparison, the upper badge is a common legit all-arms school badge.

As you see, gilding is too shiny, the hammer and sickle are too thick, enamels are too dark.

A few things I notices between fakes and orignals.

- sometimes hammer and sickle is different
- copies have a slightly thinner screw
- the tip of the screw is slightly sharpened by original badges
- for originals, under the red enamel, a "3" can be seen
- original badges are seen from the side more arched/bent as copies

Hello, thank you fpr the pictures! The "3" is a form, or a clear mintmark?

This is the specifics of the stamp of the badges. In the former USSR, this mark "3" on those badges sometimes called (I beg your pardon!!! ) "waving balls".

Not sure having understood... Is this "3"-shape under the red enamel a "must have" or just a "good sign for originality"? [50

Sorry, I meant the stamp feature is similar to "3". The engraver tried to depict the folds of the banner, which turned out to be similar to "3". [278

After looking at it later, I don't really like the badge.

The badge has a very flat relief. Many copies have very shallow relief (seen from the side).
I'll take pictures later.

Here is a comparision. The badge on the right is the paratrooper badge.

You can clearly see the differences in the hight of the badges.
