Re: 70 Years KGB badge
Andreas,
I am not a big specialist in badges, so you may want to take my opinion with a grain of salt...
Overall, I tend to like this badge despite the fake looking patina. Could you please post a strong enlargement of the mintmark, as well as of the vertical ribbons both on the right and the left.

Hello guys,
this group was shown on a german forum. It is only the foreign part of an east german medal group. The soviet and bulgarian medals belonged to an east german general officer.
Also this KGB "Alpha" badge was part of the group.
Does this kind of badge exist (offical award) or it is just a fantasy picece or a unofficiall badge?
best and thanks
Andreas
Alpha
Wikipedia: Spetsgruppa "A", also known as Alpha Group (a popular English name), or Alfa, whose official name is Directorate "A" of the FSB Special Purpose Center (TsSN FSB), is an elite, stand-alone sub-unit of Russia's special forces. It is a dedicated counter-terrorism task force of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), which primarily prevents and responds to violent acts in public transportation and buildings. It was created by the Soviet KGB in 1974. Although little is known about the exact nature of its primary directives, it is speculated that the unit is authorised to act under the direct control and sanction of Russia's top political leadership, similar to its sister unit, the Directorate "B" (Vympel), which is officially tasked with protecting Russia's strategic installations. It is also available for extended police duties, for paramilitary operations, and for covert operations, both domestically and internationally.

Sorry Alfred, I don't know the KGB "Alpha" badge
Aluminum, paint, lacquer, 42.9 x 21.4 mm. The reverse shows raised stylized letters ЛЭ ("LE"), the late style logo of the Lenemalyer Factory in Leningrad.
Despite its relatively humble appearance, this is definitely an official badge, not a souvenir. Commemorative badges of this type were awarded to various low ranking employees within KGB and its many axillaries - as opposed to the higher ranking badges in brass awarded exclusively to active duty KGB officers. Some of the aluminum badges were probably also given to KGB retirees.

"The badge was issued starting in 1977 as an official award to best KGB officers. For unknown reasons, the 60th Anniversary is more scarce than the earlier, 50th Anniversary badge. "

Filo,
That is a nice one!
Couple of remarks here:
. the box is definitely not original to this badge
. the pin on the back would suggest to me that the recipient was a foreigner not used to screwback badges and who decided later to have it converted to pin closure. IMO, the shape of the implement might suggest an East-German or Romanian origin.
