Badges are not my cup of tea, but this one does not inspire me any positive feelings.

Hi Alfred,
I think it is the same badge, sold on the web, in Weißenburg-Germany, on April 24, for 250 Euros, and as it seems again put back into circulation.

At me this badge looks too new, therefore I don't have a good opinion of it.

It is not the same badge, there are minute differences between the one you show and the one Andreas posted.
But I totally agree with you on the "new" aspect. I'd add the lack of quality of the engraving, the enamel color, the strange patina as the most obvious disturbing elements.

It seems to me that the two badges, have the same defects, and the one posted by me, it was just to clean up by furnace slag..?

It may be so, that is the problem of pictures taken at different times under different conditions. I still feel that there are slight differences on the obverse, but it may be due to lighting.

That is probably the oldest story in the book when it comes to fakes

For what it's worth I agree with what has been said. Crude badge with strange patina.

If the phrase "I don't know what it is" is the oldest line then "attic find" must be the second oldest.

Hi guys,

found this one today on a flea market for little money.

Any oppinions about this one. Looks better and the details are more chrisp and charper as the badge above.
The mint mark differs from the badge above.

Well, with all my usual disclaimers, I have to say that I find this last badge rather convincing, unlike all the other ones that have been shown earlier.

I also like this last badge. If it is a copy, it would definitely be a quality one. For a cheap price, as you said, it was worth to take the risk. The reference badge you posted has to be a different variation, with a full mirror reverse. At least I hope so for the sake of your badge.

Piace anche a me. Se fosse una copia, sarebbe sicuramente molto ben fatta. Per pochi soldi, come hai detto, valeva sicuramente la pena di correre qualche rischio. Il distintivo di riferimento che hai postato deve essere una variante con mirror reverse completo. Almeno lo spero, per il bene del tuo badge.

I believe that what you outlined is simply a thin layer of enamel on the bottom part of the letter И that creates the impression of a double strike of that letter.

Guys, in all examples enamel job isn't exceptionnal, the enamel often flushes over letters... on the last better quality badge, in the left enameled zone, the upper tip is beter enameled because it flushes beyond the first letter, in direction of the top o the badge...
