OPW2 II n.665908 MZPP

Years later, I went checking whether more information about maj. Mulin would be available in the web. Surprisingly, pamyat-naroda was able to provide much more information about him, including a photo of the real Mulin Vasily Nikonorovich! I have to assume that the photo was taken during his service in the army, which apparently was in three time slots: 1919-1921, 1939-1940 and 1941-1946. If this is true, in the 40-ies Mr. Vasily was looking a bit older (and natural) than the gentleman in the booklet's picture:
Elder&young-Mulin.jpg
He left the army on April 24, 1946. In the same year (but I cannot read the month, unfortunately) the award booklet was released.
According to pamyat-naroda, but also in the Nagradnoj for the OPGW, he got a CS in 1943, a Red Star in 1944, and the OGPW-2 in 1945. In the booklet the order is not the same, the first award is dated on december 1944 (being the Red Star), while the CS is third in the list.
I hope this will not be sufficient to reject the complete booklet.

It seems that I never posted the translation of the OGPW2 citation, did I? Well, here it is, anyhow. With the usual mistakes and uncertainties due to my poor transcription and Google limitations, of course, but enough to understand the highlights:

Rocket,

Everything is as should be with the booklet. These booklets are for orders, any medal(s) previously earned would be written in after the first award that was granted with the booklet, in this case the ORS on 16/11/1944, which is confirmed by the date privileges started at (December 1944 in the present case).

Thank you Marc. I did not know that detail on precedence of orders over medals.
But there are exceptions, as usual:

Rocket,

True, I should have been a bit more precise in my previous post: I should have added "when the Order Booklet was issued with the order".

Anyway, this booklet is no really an exception, it still follows the rules but applies to the case when a recipient had not received booklet(s) previously:
. She received a MM medal on 22 October 1944, thereby opening her rights to privileges from 1 November 1944. At the time, she received a temporary certificate which she may or may not have exchanged for a Medal Booklet.
. She received a ORS on 18 May 1945 with a temporary certificate. End-of-war bureaucracy had to deal with a huge backlog of awards to regularize, and she may not have applied straight away to exchange her temporary certificate for an Order Booklet.
When she finally did - submitting her temporary certificate(s) and possible medal booklet - and the scribes in government's offices got to her file on 26 September 1946, they issued her with this Order Booklet in which her awards are listed in chronological order since it was a post-factum regularization issue.

Great about the OGPW! So the photo looks clearly added after original issuing (it looks by far younger than the booklet, isn'tt it?) but is legit! [160
