This is definitely the right section! [264
And very nice stars indeed!

If you look at one of my posts here http://www.rkka.it/forum/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=27689 you'll find my camo green painted stars. We have very similar collections! [256

I am still searching for the very nice star for pilotka you posted. Saw it onse but did not make it to buy it. That is definitely a cheaply made war period issue - like the green one with holes.

I am quite sure your last star is a German post-war reparations cap badge. And it is like the star I posted in the first picture here, second column from right, the star in the middle (brass with red paint).

Yes GC , indeed German reparation.

For painted blue star, I have no more explanations :nono:

-

I add a new very interesting cap star - never seen before and surely produced in Germany as part of post-war reparations. The shape and style of the hammer and sickle (never seen on any Soviet-procuded star) in my opinion suggests that we are dealing with a German-made post-1945 cap star. Again we have the fixing prongs "cut" at an angle (is this a specific defining element of German post-war production?)

-

I decided to give new impulse to this topic, posting all the remaining stars of my collection. Once again, this is a topic for "non-textbook" stars i.e. for those stars that are not reported in manuals and are rarely seen on the market or on forums. At this link you can find my "official" stars, that is to say those that are reported even by the Kushenko book, have been dated and are generally known  http://www.rkka.it/forum/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=27689 .
I think among the stars I'll post now you'll find pre-war models, wartime stars and also post-war examples.

Comprai questa stella in un lotto. Mai vista prima. Solido e spesso metallo e falce e martello in uno stile molto particolare. Anni '20?
I bought this star as part of a larger lot. Never seen before. Solid brass and hammer and sickle in a very peculiar design. 1920s?

Un'altra stella comprata in un lotto. Meno spessa della precedente. Testa del martello molto particolare.
Another star bought as part of a larger lot. Less thick than the previous one. The head of the hammer is quite particular.

Possibile versione pre-bellica/bellica?
This star is very similar to one of the most typical models of post-war stars. Possible pre-war/war edition?
IMG_0677.JPG
IMG_0675.JPG
Peculiar version of the famous 34mm two-pieces 1936 star. The hammer and sickle's design is very crude. Post-war edition or original hammer and sickle replaced?

Absolutely amazing! What an amazing enamel work there! The screwback is indeed very uncommon, but not unseen in Soviet cap badges. I remember seeing one screwback enamelled Civil War cap star, which you Richie thought could fit on a thick Budennovka.

Maybe this cap star was used on some sort of thick winter Ushanka cap.

It surely wasn't used on a Pilotka.. [icon_246

Nevertheless, what ana amazing star?

Slightly changing our focus Richie, but I really would like to hear your opinion on the first star I posted in my previous long message where I attach all my "non-textbook" stars ( http://www.rkka.it/forum/download/file.php?id=139738 ). THis always interested me a lot, because of the several differences with usual Soviet design. Would love to hear what you think about it!

I own one of these also - it came in a lot of insignia I bought from a colleague in Germany. Going by the metal and enamel work, I am only able to guess that it is also a reparation made piece...

The "BLACK STAR" (as it is referred to in certain circles). In my opinion, I think it is a lower quality enamel that has darkened with age and exposure to the elements...

I agree, even the enamels from excavation, (Red Star), exhibit this characteristic.
