I am opening this new topic to highlight an unknown star originally posted by Kimj six months ago HERE. I know there exists a specific thread for the identification of cap badges (one I created ) but I believe this cockade right here deserves its own topic.
Eccola qui in foto / Here it comes in picture:

My initial researchers did not produce any result, but I am now thinking this cap star could be VOHR, or belonging to some affiliated organisation. I found online a belt buckle on sale together with other rare VOHR ones. This is he first source that guarantees beyond any doubt that Kinj's star is Soviet. Now I have to find out whether it actually is VOHR and if yes, which period it belongs to..

Interessting stuff GC! Finaly I know wich side is up.
The silver coloured buckle is similar to one I have seen with crossed rifles. Perhaps this is not a coincidence. The star itself also has traces of silver plating, almost all gone now.

I entirely agree. I am quite sure we are indeed looking at a VOHR cap star or anyway as one wore by members of an affiliated or sub-organisation.Kimj ha scritto: The silver coloured buckle is similar to one I have seen with crossed rifles. Perhaps this is not a coincidence.

Coup de théatre!
Somebody seems to think that the wheel-star logo belonged to ОСОАВИАХИМ (reference HERE).
Now, I really don't know what to think of that.. For the documentary sources so far found (read: none) it might well be. I'll try looking into that and we'll see if something comes out!

GC. I think the Ososaviakhim reference is buckle number 55. The one we are interrested in is 54, described as industry guard.
I am really envious of that buckle collection! Lots of nice examples!

Coup de théatre n° 2! It seems I'm not able to read numbers!Kimj ha scritto: GC. I think the Ososaviakhim reference is buckle number 55. The one we are interrested in is 54, described as industry guard.
Yes Kimj, you are so much right! Indeed listed as Охрана минпрома (Security of the Ministry for Industry). This sort of confirms our theory that the logo was a militarised security/industrial security one.
Then of course we'd have to find out wether it is Narkomproma (pre-1946) or Minproma (post-1946). I'll see if I can manage to find some info about this (hopefully in the meantime learning how to read numbers ).
