I have recently rearranged the whole "cap badges-cockades" section of the forum and thought of giving OSOAVIAKhIM PVKh cockades their own thread..before finding out I could contribute to it!!

This beauty here did cost me quite a sum, but in all honestly I thought this was maybe not a one in a lifetime chance, but one of the very few chances I'd have had at adding a similar star to my collection. And here it is now, ready to travel back home and join all her sisters!

The star is indeed, and unexpectedly for me, quite large. 30mm measured with a rigid ruler and approx. 32 with a loose one.

Needless to say, I'm ecstatic about this new purchase, which open new avenues for research, since now I am to find out something more about the uniforms and cap badges of OSOAVIAKhIM PVKh, something I quite honestly know nothing about.

I started to do some research about OSOAVIAKhIM uniforms, but unfortunately was unable to find much. However, something came out of it! An intact version of Richie's star and a fellow wearing it on his cap. Here they come:
