Medaglia "Per la difesa di Kiev" è stato istituito nel 1961.
Poi medaglie sono realizzati solo con il tipo dell'anello.

It is possibly a mistake made by the officer as collectors´s item. Only a small number.I read this in a history awards book to many years ago. What´s your opinion ?

Strange looking "Voenkomat", the gilt is completly gone or it's the photo? At the first sight I don't like it, but probably is only a well worn medal. Normally excessive oxidation on "Voenkomat" production it's not a good sign, but the ring of this specimen and other particulars seem to be correct. I'm confused but I tend to like it.

Very unusual patina for a Voenkomat, but yes it could be legit. I see significant differences from the medal posted by Ruiz
here. For some reason, Ruiz's reverse has features of a type 1 medal (see the "KY" for instance), while Alfred's medal is more adherent to the Voenkomat serifs.
Una patina davvero insolita per una Voenkomat, ma in generale potrebbe essere originale. Noto importanti differenze rispetto alla stessa medaglia postata da Ruiz. Direi che quella di Ruiz ha un reverse con caratteristiche di una Tipo1 (vedasi le lettere "KY" per esempio), mentre quella di Alfred è piu' fedele ai serif delle medaglie Voenkomat.
