Filo, here are some marbles to play with:

Thses two caps come from a doctor who lived in Kiev. I jumped on the suitcase filled with the 3 uniforms which belonged to this man that a friend proposed to me...

They are nearly identical. They do come from the same estate.

The inside of the parade cap: the grey liner is just not of a military color, and maybe slightly, but relally slighty softer... The fabric losange is made of delicate stamped cardboard, not heavy-duty leather (sse service cap).

The service cap: liner is specific, but the swaetband is made in the two caps of the same coated canvas...

The cloth is nearly identical... I'd say the one the service cap is slightly narrower and fine... and consequently softer!

I think I understood that I have two possibilities assembly.

I looked at my other M58 cap, an artillery one, with parade cockade, and it has the same leather sweatband than the service cap I shwoed yesterday. So maybe there are no clear rule about quality fabric for officers caps. So yes, you could have the choice. But remember, I 'm not able to write a doctorate thesis about M58 uniforms

Filo, the red star is for soldiers and sergeants. So you could need a black chinstrap. But it is in coated canvas, not in plastic like in the post-1969 years!

I'll try, now I have two options, or a black chinstrap in coated canvas, or a two-piece Cockade.
Proverò, ora io ho due possibilità, o una black chinstrap in coated canvas, oppure una coccarda in due pezzi.

Mi potresti per favore far vedere la differenza che c'è fra le due tipologie di sottogola, (anche aprendo un thread dedicato, che sarebbe molto utile), visto che a giorni c'è, e vado Militoscana, e tutti i cappelli che ho e ho avuto hanno tutti quello dorato, e non ho riferimenti.

Just because it is a fabric for officer , looking for many years for a cap for enlisted man / NCO hat to complete this dress, really hard to get.
