USSR Observer's patch - "Iron Hammer 1988"

I was having a look at the online catalogue of the Imperial War Museum and I've crossed with a video of Warsaw Pact observers visiting British troops, during the exercise "Iron Hammer" of december 1988.
A very interesting video, as it shows unusual "national" arm pathes, newly introduced camouflages and the odd behaviour held between western officers and their "socialist" collegues (a mixture of sympathy and suspicion). It worths a look only for the Bunderwehr officer taking off, quite rudely, a L85 rifle from the hands of an East German officer to teach him the correct way of handling such a rifle! icon_246
