Brief, Military Evaluation      

He is an excellent flight crew member.  His craft is always combat ready.  He capably organizes preparation of the materiel section, thus supporting the Command’s mission accomplishments.  He has 14 combat sorties.  While in flight he is calm and courageous.  Despite the difficulty of field conditions, he quickly and accurately corrects deficiencies in repair and supply.  As a true patriot of the Socialist motherland, he is ready to accomplish any mission resulting in the full destruction of the enemy. 

He is deserving of the Order of the Red Star.

Very good medals and orders. He had the trilogy of the most important battles...Defense Leningrad, Defense of Stalingrad and Defense of Moscow.

Thank you Ruiz.

Another reason i love this award so much is that my Great Grandfather, in WW2 also was flight technician in a Halifax Bomber for the British.

In fact, he flew his missions from Brindisi, Italy.

Sadly he was shot down and killed over Santa Maria Del Taro and is buried in Stagliano cemetery in Genoa.
