Hi guys,

what do you think about this badge of Honour?
A collector send me the pictures and ask for my help.

I am not sure but I tend dislike it.
The details in the leafs are not very sharp. Especially the leaf veins in the center.
I ask for better pictures.

Here is an original ornament for comparision.

Unless there are variations, which I am not aware of, I see so many differences to doubt that the first posted Order is original.

I will start by saying, that does not like It, but would be very useful to see transverse images of the Order, of the riveted part.

The serial number falls in a known range for the OH.
[Usual mantra ] The picture quality is not good enough to make any informed judgement. Try and get some large, sharp, well lit pictures (or scans), including of the SN area, the rivets and the edge.

Normally the serial number was made by a rotating tool.

Have I understood that correctly.

Not quite. It seems to me that the SN on this piece was engraved with a rotating tool BUT the handwriting style differs somewhat from that of genuine pieces in this SN range.
I tend to think that the SN was altered/changed, although it is not possible to tell for sure from these pictures.
Alexei's opinion would be welcome in this debate.

I think this one is good too. Can you post a sharp shot of the rivets on the reverse, and a view of the edge of the leaves.

Remembering the debat higher in this page, the s/n engraving style seems differnet, with narrower letters; still legit?

Seb, this one is 100% kosher without a doubt. The SN was not changed in any way.
