In 1955 a Gymnasterka is adopted for the warm regions of Urss by the Soviet Army.
Despite the very similar collar, not to be confused with an M35
The ends of the sleeves are tightened by external straps and there are there are three vent holes under the armpits
Panama with overcast eyelets is also introduced in 1955

This is incredible!
A very peculiar uniform which I haven't actually seen before.
Also.. the panama hat.. so cool, but to me so un-Soviet..

Panama hats exists since 1936 , this is an emblematic Red Army hat for me

Oh yes, I'm well aware of the panama's long track of service with the Red Army..

Still, for some reason I more easily associate an ushanka than a panama to the Soviet soldier..

(although as you pointed out, try wearing an ushanka on the Abkhazian coast in August..).
