Dear friends, there are 2 photos of the petty oficer-aviator. I think he was the machine gunner-radio operator from the crew of the Pe-2 bomber. He has a buckle of the RKKF, I think this is naval aviation of the Baltic Fleet.

What makes you think so?

About belonging to naval aviation? The petty-oficer has a naval buckle.
About the Baltic Fleet? Just in the photo nature and trees characteristic of the Baltic region. In the Black Sea and North Sea theaters of operations, the vegetation is different.
This is my guess. There may be other explanations....

Hi, sorry I formulated the question roughly. I had noticed the belt so there is no doubt that it is from Fleet. The vegetation remains however some doubts (I would say Black Sea). In any case, I sent the photo to a friend of mine who is an agronomist who often goes to the Baltic countries for work. Let's hear what he thinks about it.

My friend replied quickly: "It is not easy because you see little, but I would say black sea"

Dear colleague, Airfix, maybe your opinion is correct, especially confirmed by a specialist!
I just based on the fact that the photo shows birch trees. From 1988 to 1995 I lived in Lithuania and my vegetation is similar to the Baltic region and East Prussia. In the Black Sea coast there are very few trees (steppe). Trees grow on the southern coast of Crimea, but birch trees are practically not found there, because they are very hot there and lack water.
But as your friend agronomist rightly noted, too little is visible in the photo!
