Order of Nevsky on Suspension

These scans were e-mailed to me recently, I suspect as a test of my fake detection abilities.

What do you think and why?

I don't like it, Alexei. It seems to be a cast copy with a fake patina but i'm not an expert of Nevsky with suspension. I saw only one of these orders in my hand that i'm sure was good.

To me yes, if not they have made a master job to repeat all the scratches... hve you spot something different?!

I throw my 2 cents....
The suspension has been replaced, some chips in the red enamel have been repaired, possibly also the clip has been somehow modified (the one from faleristika seems thinner and the clocking is different)

Points 1 and 2 have a wrong clocking, while 3 and 4 seems at the right place compared to the medallion on the right. Like berries on a Belgrade Medal, their position can be a clue to spot a fake.

It's definately the same piece with a replaced suspension, ring, enamels, and the ugly fake patina removed. Airon, thanks for posting it

it's unbelievable how a fake patina can change the overall, hard to believe that are the same medallions (the nose and the top of the helmet are very different). But i have to change my first sentence: now the order seems to be original (except for the particulars restored).

il medaglione ruotato non è un problema, può capitare che accada durante l'assemblaggio, (vedi un mio Nevsky).

The Medallion rotated, it is no problem, it happens during Assembly, (see my Nevsky).

True. But my impression was that some points turned more than others, which means they are not evenly distributed. However it is possible that this is only my perception.

This order is a perfect example why I never do authentications from photos. There is no substitute for getting a feel of the actual award.

OK, based on what I can see here I would say that the star and the serial numbered back piece are genuine. The medallion is most likely genuine, but it has been heated up, so the features (like mustache and the chain mail) are a little distorted. Rivets are not original, further confirming my theory that the order was most likely converted to screwpost by its original recipient and then re-converted back to the suspension by a dealer. The suspension, the loop and the stick-pin are obvious fakes.
