Seriale n. 970057, secondo Filer è stato prodotto nel 1968 da MMD in un lotto di soli 5000 esemplari.

Here is my last purchase, i.e. an example of Order of the Great Patriotic War, II class type T2v9.4.3, 'Ring' reverse.
According to Filer, serial number 970,057 was produced in 1968 by MMD, as part of a lot of only 5000 orders.

Why did the USSR have to manufacture new orders in the late '60-ies? I would understand a massive distributions of medals and orders just around 1965 (XX anniversary of the Victory), but in 1968?
Wound awards and catch-up awards. In the decades after the war, many OPWs (and other decorations) that had already been bestowed on paper had yet to be issued to their recipients. Many of these OPWs that were manufactured in the 1960s had been awarded (on paper) in 1944-1945. Interestingly, this all continued well into the 1980s (and it possible went on even after that). At some point the state apparently ran out of type 2 stock and started issuing jubilee OPWs for wartime deeds. For example, OPW2 nr. 6694XXX, a 1985 jubilee piece, was awarded in 1943 (!).
Ferita premi e catch-up premi. Nei decenni dopo la guerra, molti OPWs (e altre decorazioni), che erano già stati elargiti sulla carta dovevano ancora essere rilasciato ai destinatari. Molti di questi OPWs che sono state prodotte nel 1960 era stato assegnato (sulla carta) nel 1944-1945. È interessante notare che tutto questo è proseguita anche nel 1980 (e possibile continuò anche dopo). Ad un certo punto lo stato apparentemente a corto di tipo 2 stock e iniziato a rilasciare OPWs giubilari per azioni di guerra. Ad esempio, OPW2 nr. 6694XXX, un giubileo pezzo del 1985, è stato assegnato nel 1943 (!).

Not without archival documentation, but I'm not sure if they can be researched via serial number, I've never tried it.
Second class jubilee OPWs from 661xxxx are post '85 awards but it would be interesting to know if they are catch up jubilee or catch up wartime.
I have to try with mine sooner or later.
