Here is a diploma for attending Voronshilov General Staff Academy in Moscow.
Awarded to an east german officer. Only 283 german attend this military school till 1990.
Marshall Soviet Union Sokolov singed the diploma.
On the left side of the document is a stamp that the "Badge" was given.

Looking at your pictures, it seems that the badge construction differ: the regular academy badge has a rivet above the screwpost, whereas the general academy badge has the rivet below the screwpost.
Can you please confirm this, or did you inadvertently turn one of the badges upside-down?

Hi Marc,
no both badges have the rivet below the screwpost. Just the picture is wrong.
The only difference is, that the reverse of the genrell staff academy badge is complete gold plated and
the rim around the badge on the front is gold plated.

I was trying to find some specificity to the original General Academy badge, as "smart people" have been gold-plating standard academy badges for already quite some time

Just an update.
Recently a "Military Academy graduation badge" (without shield) with document and diploma and a few more documents (passport and his diploma work) awarded to an East German Officer was sold on ebay for the incredible amount of 561 Euro´s.
