OBK - Ordine Bogdan Khmelnitsky - FAKE
Vi posto qua un'ordine Bogdan Khmelnitsky 3 classe falso che mi hanno regalato. Penso possa essere utile a chi come me non è ancora esperto nel riconoscere al volo l'autenticità di questo ordine

Good example of a bad fake!
Looks like made of Copper!

Tra l'altro, c'è almeno il numero seriale?

Also, is there a serial number at all?

Re: OBK - Ordine Bogdan Khmelnitsky - FAKE
So, they were already quite well made then too!!! Just goes to show that all good fakes are not necessarily recent, a point that I have been repeating (too!) many times...
Re: OBK - Ordine Bogdan Khmelnitsky - FAKE
If you have a closer look at it, this is not such a good fake after all.

Andreas,
Here are pictures of OK3 1221. The obverse is similar, I can't really tell anything about the reverse from such a small fragment.

Re: OBK - Ordine Bogdan Khmelnitsky - FAKE
Marc, I am confused.
The reverse looks total different. But I think there is the same damage at the tip of the star. (red circle)
Was the reverse cleaned?

Re: OBK - Ordine Bogdan Khmelnitsky - FAKE
Imho, it's a cast copy Alfred.

That's what I was thinking originally, but wasn't certain without having a look at the back in its entirety. Now, I do believe that it is a cast copy of the one I have shown.

Hi Marc,
could it not be, that only the solder on the reverse war removed?
On the front are the same scratches....

I agree with Alfred, because the various scratches on the surface all coincide, for me it is the same order, unless it has been cloned...

Guys,
Anyway, that is nothing more than my opinion
Marc
What happens when you make an imprint of an order using, say, silicon or ceramic for instance? You get a very finely detailed mold that you can further use to make duplicates of the original piece. And guess what! The defects of the original order or medal will also appear on the copies... Although, as can be seen from Andrea's collages, they may be slightly attenuated in places on the copy.filo ha scritto:I agree with Alfred, because the various scratches on the surface all coincide, for me it is the same order, unless it has been cloned...

I am no authority but i suggest to focus on the details that a faker may have forgotten to do well.
For instance the screw and the solderings.
With this photos though it's difficult to tell...

In fact I agree with you, and as I stated above, I said that was cloned.Lapa ha scritto:Guys,

them to make this kind of copies, in addition to the materials and tools needed to operate, those should also have available the original order, with this we can also say that behind the great counterfeiters, there are often big collectors...?
