Congratulations! You've won a job at the lottery and earned the 'right' to become a nameless, faceless little bureaucrat who is responsible from the border station of a fictional socialist country (Arstotzka) in 1980s, alongside countless entrants and their tons of paperwork!

“My job is nearly slavery.
My boss is a tyrant who has literally threatened my life.
I am the lone gatekeeper between an entire nation and a world of criminals.
My workload pratically assures failure yet any instances of ineptitude are met with the strictest of punishment.
I am overworked, underpaid and disrespected at every turn.
My little pay means my wife is sick and my house is cold.
My disabled and dependant uncle has recently died of fever and famine.
My children are hungry and I am the same.

I do not know how much more I can withstand. A good citizen of my country, yes. But is my country a good nation to it's citizens? Now I have begun to question this.

There is a man, I have seen him a few times. He has "offered" me things. I have refused in the past but now I do not know if I can be so pious. My family's well being is my only concern now.

I have heard the stories of what happens to other Admissions Officers who take bribes. Life in prison, or worse. This does not matter to me any longer. I must be a man of action for to stay and allow these abuses is to assure my family's death.
