Here's the group. Discovered on a lucky day. I found strange one of the diplomas and got the group for cheap. No medals. Then I played a strange game: find the medals corresponding to the documents. Original medals have been lost (sad thing) by the seller or the family, so I'll add the correct variations medals to the group. And about GDR, there're A LOT of variations, following the production year.

As only very early (and high-end) GDR medals are numbered, I could add unumbered medals. When you buy GDR group, you can only rely of the good faith of the family or the seller to be sure you acquire the genuine medals which belonged to the owner.

The scarcer part of the group is the dilploma for the Kurt-Bartel medaille. Kurt Barthel was a communist writer, and the medal, sober and austere, was granted for accomplishments in the field of culture.

The very classic Verdienstmedaille der DDR, maybe given to every loyal citizen of the GDR after some years of duty. Here shown in its 1970ies pebbled and painted varuation

This lady was a member of the union of german women (deutsche frauen bund) and of the union for culture. I'm not sure about the badges, as it is poorly documented (I must buy the correct Frank Bartel volume encyclopedia of GDR medals and badges, the "spezialkatalog").

The has been awarded not less than eight times with the really common "collective der socialist work". Every loyal worker in a collective team in plants, societies could receive several times this award. Thiese are the two square medals. They have the special suspension for several awardings ( a big rectangle for 5 awards) and the 3-ribbons suspension. I.Domitzlaff also received the common aktivist of socialist arbeit.

Bad photo: the Johannes R. Becher medaille for culture, in bronze class, and its dilpoma, not so common. Becher was a great communist writer, and one of the greatest cultural legitimation of the regime (with Anna Seghers and of course the huge Berthold Brecht)

Better view of the Becher medal, and a Pestalozzi medal. Ilze Domitzlaff should have been a craetaker of the Bach house in Eisenach. This museum is of course still in activity. She wrote approximatively 2 books, easily findable, about Eisenach and the Bach house.
Eisenach is famous for his orginal J-S Bach's house, his superb castle and the former Wartburg car plant...
