Same thing here! Back then as a student I had free entry in Hermitage and used to go there for an hour after my classes, to see bits of the collections. Yet, most of my time was spent between the Artillery Museum, the Defenders' Museum, the Navy Museum..and a small KGB Museum too! I was myself really filled with emotion wondering through these museums!
Kronstadt was also incredible. Went there on my birthday, as a sort of self-present, since I had researched during my BA the events surrounding the garrison's participation in the 1905, 1917 feb, 1917 oct and then 1921 revolutions/uprisings. As I always say, "seeing and touching" history there was just incredible!
