Ciao Gentlemen,
Here is a Russian WWII ID book to a gentleman captured or killed in the early part of the invasion of Russia. He is of the 498th Rifle Regiment. 2nd Battalion. A Rifleman. Alexander Sergachev. This id booklet was found in a German veteran's home after he passed away. All the booklets he had were to this particular unit. Interesting history.
Best Regards, Arditi

I missed this post since it was published in 2007, possibly it was still a contribution to the former forum. I am surprised it got no further attention since the shown document looks very interesting: a WW2 soldier's paybook with picture and a graphic format slightly different from two other booklets issued in the same period (1942) and posted in this forum. For instance, the heading title in page 2 (Personal data) is written on three rows rather than two. Very nice.
