For what it's worth I agree with what has been said. Crude badge with strange patina.
If the phrase "I don't know what it is" is the oldest line then "attic find" must be the second oldest.

Hi I know that this is really not a forum for my question. But I also know that medal collectors are a helpful bunch of people. :) Anyway my question is this: Is it possible to find a person awarded by the Pope in 1870? I have read a story about a Swede who claimed to have been awarded several order...

GC*: Yes, the problem with collecting is holding the line. Too much nice stuff to distract the poor collector. Comsomol-clones is a perfect topic for an international forum. I hope we see much more action with pictures and info. Sadly I have no more badges to show. filo: Your badge is for the Palest...

It would be nice if we could make a thread about all the komsomol clone badges of the world.
The only other badge I have is for the Norwegian youth organisation NKU, but that is a diffrent design. Nice but not quite the Sporrong quality.
If you find an extra FGCI badge let me know.

Most European countries had their own communist party and youth organization. So did Sweden. Many/most of them they were also heavily influenced by the "motherlands" insignia when it came to designing their own badges. Swedish badges were no exception to this rule, borrowing the Komsomol b...

The third one is the modern gold colored in aluminium.
Finding the odd star is a matter of knowing your stuff and just blind luck. I'm sure you'll find what you want.

Good to see some VOKhR badges! I started a thread some ten years ago about the VOKhR on the other forum. In that thread I posted my stars and one wearing the VOKhR uniform. Need to get some better pics...

Variation is natural. Cap stars aren't state awards made in just one place but uniform insignia made by a bunch of makers. All this makes a lot of variations for the collector and of course headaches. I was going to post my railroad stars... then you posted THAT collection Richie. Now my stars are j...

I would be very interested to hear from you which identification has been given to the first star. Not a standard Soviet design at all. The shape of the star could suggest an early 1920s model, but the hammer and sickle's style (specifically the hammer's) confuses me a bit. Also the rays once under...

Cap stars can be really addicitve...
The last one never got a 100% ID when I was into stars, back in the day. But I believe it's a star for something like the VOKhR, possibly a predecessor. So some type of factory security. Anyone know for sure?
